Who am I, what am I doing here???
The first question should be the easier one to answer… I hope so…
My real name shouldn’t be too hard to guess. Does anybody need a clue?
I started playing tabletop games about 12 years ago with WH40K together with some colleagues. Since then I’ve been collecting a nice little Black Templars crusade. The money back then came mostly from a part time job I had besides school in a little metal parts manufacturing company… I can tell you, sorting screws and pins by length and color for hours isn’t that easy.
I stayed with GW’s games for some more years, started collecting an imperial guard about 9 years ago and later started to play the Inquisitor tabletop game, too. We, I and my co-players, also tried some WHFB. But I never really got the hang of it and all I have now are boxes of second hand fantasy miniatures… sorry, most of them are painted or made of plastic. So, no left overs for you here.
Then some years ago we started playing Classic Battletech. And in the meantime I also amassed some companies of mechs… most of them are also painted.
Besides these major games we also tried some minor TT or CC games. But due to a lack of players and time we focused on only a few games.
During the past 5 years I became more and more a tournament player. But as Anton mentioned in his “Hello…” thread, my best games were the ones I lost badly, too.
To me winning isn’t the reason for playing tournaments. It’s that I want to try new army concepts and meet some old friends again. And I just don't find time at the moment for gaming nights with bretzels an beer
For all the years I’ve been playing tabletop games now I’ve never touched a RPG. The closest thing I ever tried was the Inquisitor tabletop.
So what am I doing here? When I first read about Wreck-Age it reminded me of Inquisitor, but with less accounting and math. The options to create YOUR personal characters and involve RPG elements as you wish are exciting me the most.
So much for now… more might follow …
